Principles in Production Management

This programme is designed for first line supervisors who wish to improve efficiency and productivity of their teams in a manufacturing environment. This course is aligned to SAQA unit standards and a Training Force competency certificate is issued upon completion of the course.
  • This course is presented over 8 Saturdays
  • Literacy and Numeracy at Grade 10 is recommended
Formulate & Implement an Action Plan to Improve Productivity within an Organisational Unit (SAQA 114877)
  • Measure current levels of Single Factor Productivity and identify the factors
  • Formulate an activity plan to improve productivity within the organisational unit
  • Optimise productivity within the organisational unit
Co-ordinate the Improvement of Productivity within a Functional Unit (SAQA 114884)
  • Analyse the quantitative and non-quantitative factors influencing productivity
  • Identify the interventions and develop plans to remove the identified root causes
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of interventions of various organisational units
  • Review the implementation of the interventions and set new targets

  • Define and analyse the operational problem
  • Identify possible solutions
  • Implement solution
